Chick-time is a major event at Preschool! Each spring, we have a seven-week unit to incubate and hatch eggs, and raise baby chicks. We begin with learning the parts of the incubator and move on to daily discussions about growth within the eggs, while anticipating hatching time. Our chickies are held during class each day for three weeks until they are 'scruffy teenagers' and ready to go to the family farm where they will be raised for laying eggs and as pets.
