Christ Church Lutheran is seeking a part-time Children’s Ministry Director to help imagine, organize, lead and grow our Children’s Ministry for ages birth and up, in partnership with the Lead Pastor, Children & Youth Ministry Committee, and volunteers.

We seek someone who will:

● Support and nurture spiritual formation for children and their families and promote intergenerational relationships in the congregation.

● Nourish relationships with children and their families.

● Attend worship on a regular basis and tend to the inclusion of the children in worship.

● Teach Sunday School (up to, but most often fewer than, 20 children; ages 3 to grade 5) with the help of volunteers. Christ Church Lutheran’s Sunday School is rooted in the Godly Play curriculum (training provided as needed).

● Recruit and organize volunteers serving in Children's Ministry. Meet with Children & Youth Ministry Committee as needed.

● Collaborate with Children & Youth Ministry Committee volunteers on events for families with children and youth.

● Manage administrative tasks such as communications, the Children’s Ministry calendar of events, and staff collaboration.

Qualifications:

● A love for children’s faith development, worship, the church, and God.

● Feel a calling to work with children, youth, and their families in a supportive, faith based environment.

● Willingness to lead, coordinate, and work with others toward a common goal.

● Prior experience as a paid or volunteer worker in Children’s Ministry preferred.

● Excellent teaching, communication and organizational skills.

● Experience with and/or supportive of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

● Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Hours and Salary

● This is a part-time position; 12 hours per week, 9 months per year (September - May).

● There may be opportunities for additional summer hours, if desired.

● Salary range is $25 - $30 per hour, depending on qualifications.
